Christmas

 Hello All,

I've been busy making Christmas gifts. A few bags, a few place mats. An ornament and mug rug. Little things to let  friends and family know I'm thinking of them. I didn't get pictures of most of them though. Sometimes I forget the camera when I'm getting gifts made, wrapped and ready to send.

I had a lot of fun with this gift. It's a little family tree for my Mom. I have three sisters, so our names are in the trees. Then our children, and the few great-grands are on there as well (no names showing for privacy). This pattern is in a Country Christmas book from years ago. 

The embroidered names was all my idea, it's not in the pattern. And the saying above the trees I changed. I had such fun with this project!

I started learning EPP this year also (Carol, if you haven't opened your gift yet, don't look at the next picture 😉 ). I put this together for Carol, the two flowers are EPP. I had a lot of fun with this one too and will be doing more EPP in the future.

Now that the gifts are made, I need to find a new project. I cut out a few more of these flowers and I'll see how many I get made this year. Maybe I'll do a bunch and make a quilt like this one, we'll see.

A bit of Christmas sewing

Hello, hello everyone!

Have you been getting any Christmas sewing done? I have done a little bit. Sewing just isn't something I am doing a lot of right now. But I had to make more of these sew together bags!

Earlier in the month, I posted some pictures of one I had already made and two more that were cut out.

Here are those two, done.

And all ready for gift giving :)

I've found that I really like these made with interfacing, instead of quilting the outer piece. It's a bit more stiff with interfacing, not so squishy.

We've been getting some much needed rain. Had a few days of clouds, and are going to get more rain this week. Looks like it will be a wet winter :) Which is a really good thing!! So, pictures are dark and dreary...sorry about that.

Other than that. I've been doing a bit of quilting on son #2's Dino quilt. I'm about 3/4 done, so might even get it finished in time for Christmas giving :)

Today I want to pull the decorations out and get some lights and such up.

Christmas quilting

Hello Everyone,

Are you ready? Just a week to go. My 9yr old is bouncing off the walls. We have some decorations up. We have our tree picked out (we'll be cutting it down off our own place), but wont cut it and put it up till this weekend. I have a feeling my toddler will be a big nuisance with it. He loves the lights and pretty colored balls.

I have got some of my Christmas sewing done. Here's just a small snippet of a picture.

 

Here's something else I've been working on. I wont be able to show you the finished product till January though. It's my project for the Kona solids hop.

The picture isn't true to the colors. They are rich, vibrant purples and bright, almost neon orange and lime green.

Boxes are coming in by mail and we have shopping to do on Friday. Getting down to the wire.
