Mystery quilt blocks 1-5

Hello All,

We have been having the wackiest weather here. A few weekends ago we had 15" of snow on the ground. Then we had 3 or 4 days of warm sun, getting up near 60. Now we are back to cold/wet. We have a dusting of snow on the ground today with cold temps. And tomorrow we are going back to sunny.... I guess that means it's Spring :)

Here are my blocks 1 thru 5 of the Laundry Basket mystery quilt.

Blocks 2 and 3 are the same pattern. Edyta just suggested changing the light and blue fabrics for other light and blue, but I just did mine all the same.

Then I decided to add in the fun green polka dot. I am not much of a polka dot fan, but when the Simply Color line from V & CO came out, I thought those polka dots were so fun (I really love the whole line!). So I bought a yard of it, and it stayed in my stash ever since (the line came out in 2012)!

It just happens to match the other green in my blocks just perfectly :)

You all take care out there, have a great day.

Mystery quilt

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all staying safe out there. We are well here on the Ridge, we have lots of outside work to keep us busy on the nice days, and inside stuff to keep us busy on the wet days.

Thanks to Edyta at Laundry Basket quilts, we have a new mystery quilt to make. My long time readers know how much I love a mystery :)

These are the fabrics I've chosen, all of them except the lighter pink came from my best quilting buddy Pat@scrapatches.  They are a mix of fabric designers, it's such a fun bundle!

And here are the first two blocks. Edyta is doing one block a day for 15 days. Some blocks we will make 4 of, others 8, and such, to end up with 100 blocks.

My quilt wont be as scrappy as Edyta's, but that's ok, I am having fun and enjoying these lively fabrics.

Thanks Edyta!!

Have a great day Everyone.

What I'm working on

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all staying safe out there. We are hunkered down, have plenty of provisions.

This is what it looked like outside yesterday morning.

We have about 15" out there, and it's still lightly coming down this morning. Isn't it beautiful :)

My good friend and best quilting pal  Pat at the scrapatch showed me the Mosaic mystery last year, she pointed it out thinking I might enjoy it. Well I didn't play along with it, but when I saw the finished tops this year, I decided I needed to make one as well.

I didn't have enough fabrics to do the half stars around the edges, so I just made some flying geese for the border. It's small, about 48" square. And this picture isnt great as I had to take it indoors. But I love the spring colors. I changed a little bit of the pattern too, but not much ;)

And then I pulled out this UFO. It's called Calico Rose, you can find it at Wedding Dress Blues.

It uses LOTS of 2" squares, so my scrap box is being whittle down. I have 5 more blocks of each to make. I love making scrappy quilts :)

I hope you have lots of quilty things to keep you busy. Read a good book, clean the house from top to bottom.... stay home and be safe.
