Well Hello

Hello out there, I don't know if anyone besides my good friend Barbara is looking here anymore, but here I am :)

I can't believe it's mid-August already and I'm just now doing a first post of the year. It's been an odd year for me, lots of personnal stuff going on. I have no energy due to some ongoing medical issues. They are being taken care of, but I am so tired. But also, I have problems with blogger and posting photos, I follow steps, but no photos show up. SIGH~ so I do the old copy/paste method.

This morning I was determined to get some photos of quilt tops taken though, and I did!! Thanks for the pushing Barbara ;)

As you'll see, I've been playing in my scrap box mostly. This 4-square is made up of 1.5" and 2" squares, then I used larger squares to make the triangles.

This next one is Hearts, it's also made up of 1.5" squares.... I have a lot of those! LOL

Both nice sized quilts for baby or maybe a wheelchair, put a border or two on and make it a bit bigger for toddlers.

The next one is Around the world, done with 2" squares.  I saw this post on film in the fridge blog, and wanted to make one too.

It's a nice twin size or so. And, of course, I still have LOTS of scraps to play with!! LOL

This one I just made for a good friend of mine. A mutual friend is making a top as well, and I am going to put our tops together and make a two-sided quilt for our good friend who needs a quilty hug.

And one more, this is my Sunflowers quilt. I saw this sunflower quilt on canuckquilter.com and just HAD to make my own version. I love gray backgrounds...canuck quilter got this pattern from the book
Mini Wonderful Curves from Sew Kind of Wonderful.

The sunflower blocks are made of the drunken path curved pieces. So you always get extra's, and I didn't want to throw them out, so I made new blocks with them. and threw them in there as well. I LOVE prairie points :) The sunflower border has yellow in it here and there in real life, so it's perfect for this quilt. Again, lots of scraps were used, as well as part of a gray/yellow jelly roll my dd had boughten me.

(Sorry my photos are washed out.)

I have 2 more scrap tops being worked on, I have tons of scraps as well as yardage and it needs to be used up!

Thanks for stopping by! have a lovely day.

Dorian
