Mystery quilt top finished

Hello out there,

For the last few weeks I've been following along with Edyta and her quilting mystery. I had a lot of fun with it, adding some fabrics as I went along, but mostly using my original six, these ones.

When we were done piecing all the blocks, we were to sew them into rows and then sew the rows together. I decided to put mine together a bit differently, it's easier on my back if I don't make long rows. So I made 4 blocks like this:

And I made 4 blocks like this:

Then I made the middle block:

I rotated the blocks until they were aligned  right and then sewed them together. Much easier for me. I did change one thing, and thats they way a few of the green 'arrows' were pointing. My quilty muse just likes it better :)

Edyta showed us some lovely borders that we could make, but I went with my own design.

This quilt uses light, busy background and there is very little tone on tone or solids in it, so it's a little outside my box, but I had a lot of fun making it. Thank you Edyta!

Stay safe and have a great week!

That's an absolutely gorgeous finish, Dorian! The colors you chose work so well together in that design - such a happy combination!. And I love that you did your own thing!

This worked up beautifully, Dorian! You have always had an uncanny ability to perfectly place fabrics in mystery quilts. I don't know how you do it time after time. You are a quilty wizard ... :-) Pat
