ALOYF 2013 recap

Hello Everyone,

I want to thank Melissa and Shanna for such a fun year of goal setting!

Here are the finishes I had for 2013. I didn't know about this fun event till March, so thats when I started. In order to qualify for the final year finishes prizes, you have to have 6 finishes and posted about them, over the year. I JUST made it!

March goal finish.

April finish.

June finish.

July finish.

October finish.

November finish.

And they are doing it all over again for 2014, it's a fun way to make a goal each month, and the prizes they give help to keep me on track :)

Now I need to think of a goal for January!

Bloggers quilt festival

Hello Folks,

It's time again for the Blogger Quilt Festival, put on by Amy every year. There are always awesome prizes and gorgeous eye candy to look at. Voting has started, so go over and pick your favorites.

I'm entering my Lone star that I made for our Paint Chip Challenge over on the Q&N. This challenge required us to make a project using one to three of the colors on a paint chip card. My colors are the beige/taupe ones.

I did some straight line quilting in the star.

And I did free motion roses in the background.

It's 42" square.

I quilted it on my Singer 201 vintage sewing machine. I am brand new to FMQing, and pretty new to quilting altogether on a home machine. I was a hand quilter for many years. So this is a fun, new challenge for me and I am really loving it.

Thanks Amy!

A few medallions

Howdy everyone, hope you are cool, wherever you are. We are going to hit about 97 today, and that is HOT in my opinion. LOL. So I am trying to stay cool indoors....sewing of course, what else ;)

Here is my Lone star medallion (I wish I would of changed my yellow and pink around, so the yellow doesn't blend into the swirls so much...sigh~)

And here is Pat's pretty medallion. She is using scraps leftover from her bedroom make over, which you can go here to read about.

Please feel free to send me pictures of your medallions!

I've also started a flikr group for us.

Lone star quilt along group

I hope that works. You should all be able to join and upload photos to it. Or start a discussion/etc. I've never done this before, so if there is something not right, please let me know.

Have a great day!

PS, don't forget to drop me a comment and leave me your name, if you're a wantobe quilter! LOTS of prizes you could win over at the Stash, come August.
