Fabric shopping

  Hello All,

I hope you're enjoying some lovely Fall weather. It's beautiful here. Cool at night, warm in the day.

My shopping spree this week:

I bought this gorgeous FQ bundle of Chevrons from Fabric Worm. I  love the tone on tone colors. These are going into Isaiahs I spy quilt.

I am still in love with the Sunkissed fabric line by Sweetwater I found these on sale at Heirloom Patch, for only $6.99 a yard!! (If you decide to buy from this place, beware...the shipping is SLOW!)

 

I will be using the small pinstrip for Isaih's quilt.

And I think I'll pare up this gray with these lovely charms, Simply Color by Vanessa and Co. Which I got from Green Fairy quilts. She is still having a great sale on her precuts!

I think I am going to make another 4patch quilt, like this one. Only bigger. With the gray/Simply Color. And would like to know if anyone would be interested in doing a follow along?

Bits and pieces

 It's the bits and pieces that make up the quilt. I am working on a new pattern.  Want to see the bits and pieces?

They all need a good session with the iron....of course. LOL

And I wish now that I would of gone with a solid or TonT instead of the light blue/flowers. It's a bit busy for my taste.

 BUT, all the pieces are coming out just like I wanted them too :) I had my birthday yellow fabrics (the Kaufman and Fig tree ones) in mind, when I made this. I just don't have enough of those to make it with. So, I will buy more, and make it in those pretty, soft yellows and pinks also.


See this?? Isn't it darling!? It is only a few inches tall, from bottom of cabinet to top of machine. And not much wider.

It was a birthday gift from my 16yr son :) I just love it! He has been having fun messing with some casting of various metals. And he loves to work with wood.

Hope you enjoyed the bits and pieces, I'll show more when it's finished.

Jelly rolls

I can certainly see why jelly rolls are so popular. I am having a good time with my bowl full of sunshine, er, Sunkissed. (Please forgive the poor quality photos today, I think I hit the wrong setting on my camera.)

Making 4-patches are sooo easy!

Just sew two strips right sides together...

 

Cut apart every 2.5"...

Turn one, and sew two together...

You can also make an very easy 9-patch.

Sew three strips together....

Cut apart every 2.5"....

Make two different strip sets, and sew together...

Of course, square patches aren't ALL you can make with jelly rolls. There's strips, like for this new bag I'm making (although I did not use a jelly roll for this).

And there's diamonds and triangles and a variety of other things....which I'm sure you all know about ;) But they are for another post.
