June is flying by

Hello Everyone,

Wow, didn't mean to be silent for a few weeks. I just never seem to get/take the time to take any pictures of what I'm working on. And then, I end up working on the same things for weeks because my sewing time is limited.

If finally started quilting this charity quilt.

I'm halfway thru. Have already sewn on both sides of the vertical seams, now am working  my way thru the horizontal seams.

I celebrated a birthday this last week. My sweet dh bought me EQ7!! I have been working with version 4,which is a dinosaur! Number 7 is such a treat to play around with, everything works so much smoother. Thank you Sweetie :)

So I've been having fun with that. Deciding how I am going to use this pretty bundle my good friend Pat sent me. Thank you Pat!  They are a mix of Here Kitty Kitty and Critter Patch from Clothworks and Most of them will be part of a collection I have going to make my dd's quilt. The pretty blue background you see, is going to be the background of the quilt.

And my dear big Sis sent me a fun package. This neat panel was part of my goodies. Isn't it cool?!

Those were just a few of the things I received. It was a nice birthday :)

Well, I hope to post more often. Have a great day ya'all!

Sewjo Saturday...onSunday

Hello All,

Just slipping in under the wire here. I got some sewing done this weekend :)

This little bag is for a certain young lady who's turning 16 next week. Sigh~ They grow so fast, don't they??

She's been  wanting a camera for eon's now, and we finally got her a great little point n shoot for her birthday. So she needed something to carry it around in. She can tie it around her waist and go roaming around.

It's the first bag that I've quilted. I wanted to make it nice and cushiony. Even though it's a tough camera, still don't want it dinged/scratched up.

I've also been working on my X and + friendship blocks. I think we are up to 40 now, I'll have to recheck.

It was nice to get some sewing done. I have so many things on my list I want to do... guess that list will still be here when my little guy doesn't need me so much, right :)

Have a great day!

Thank you Kim!

Come along on a picnic!

Hello Everybody,

Welcome to my picnic. We are a simple folk, who live a peaceful life in the Sierra mtns of beautiful California. There's nothing fancy about us. Just down home cooking, playing in the dirt, and enjoying the beautiful wildlife around us. If that sounds like a good place to picnic, then come along.

This beautiful Black oak is one of many around the ridge. It's a favorite spot, the kids enjoy climbing it and it puts off good shade.

We had a nice little picnic here today. Sandwhichs, carrot sticks, apples, raisins, lemonade and home made cookies. Simply good food :)

I made an I spy type of quilt for us. (You can read a bit more about it here.)

The two middle kids especially, love going on a picnic. And playing I spy is always a fun game.

Educational too ;)

We play various word games or maybe bring a frisbee or ball with us. Unless we are picnicing at one of the various creeks or rivers around the area. Then it's all about the sand and the water. Which is one of our favorite Summer time things to do.

But today, here is another view of the beautiful little spot we are in.

My daughter enjoys making baskets, and she made us this picnic one (which needs a bit of a repair after today :)

Thank you Samm for a fun blog hop.

Thank you Mary, for being a great hostess.

And thank you all for coming along on our picnic. Don't forget to stop by and see the rest the picnic's on the hop today.
