Laundry List linky party!
Hello All!
I'm joining Kathy today. She has a great progress report linky thing going on at the end of every month. And she has fun prizes to giveaway!
I've gotten all my blocks done for my dd's quilt. So now it's time to put them together. I had set this project aside so I could quilt my son's dino quilt.
His quilt was my August goal for ALYOF, and I didn't make it. I still have 3/4 of the quilt left to quilt.
But I have to put both those projects aside for now. As I need to start on my Black Cat Crossing project. Here's the lovely fabrics I bought for it.
I think I have my project figured out, now to get the measurements correct and start cutting.
This is what I'll be working on thruout Sept. I have till the end of Oct, but with the small amount of time I have in the sewing room, I need to work on it.
Thanks Kathy for inviting me to join your linky party!
Go see Design originals by KC and check out other participants.
Have a great weekend!

WIP Wednesday
Hello All!
Another beautiful day here.
My August goal was to get this dino quilt from LAST August quilted. NOT going to happen.
I have started on it, am only about 1/4 the way thru.
I have a hard time doing large motifs. I am finding that I just really like to quilt small ones, all over the place.
I still need A LOT of practice.
It's a good thing I have a huge pile of tops to practice on ;)

A special request
Hello Everyone,
I have a special request. If you are wanting to buy some fabric, can you please go see Tonya on her Face Book page:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/Ozarkfabric/
She has some notions, patterns and paper pieced patterns here:
http://hillbillyquiltshop.com/
You see, her husband is going thru a LOT of medical issues, and has for the past 2 yrs now. It's not getting any better. Tonya is doing what she does best in order to make some money, and thats buying/selling fabrics and making her hexagon patterns for sale.
If you can help out a fellow quilter, and sweet person to boot, I know she would appreciate it.
If you want to read more about Tonya and her life, she the HillyBilly blogger.
Thanks for reading and helping out if you can. She has great prices.

Finished art tote!
Hello Everyone,
I can't believe it's the middle of August already! Just amazing how quickly time is flying.
So I got Carson's art tote done, yah!
I put a pocket on the outside of his. It can hold his new drawing book, or extra paper.
The inside has a place for paper, a zip pocket and a pocket for pens. The black case you see has 8 different drawing pencils in it, as well as an eraser and a sharpener. I'll let him choose if he wants to keep them in the black case or put them in the pockets.
It zips up too. I decided not to put handles on this one. I sure hope he likes it.
Now I can get started on quilting his quilt. And do some more work on Rachael's quilt.
Have a great day!

WIP Wednesday
Good morning All,
It's a gorgeous day here today! Only going to be in the upper 70s, which is amazing for August!! I am really enjoying it :)
This week I am working on an art bag for my middle son. He's been requesting one for a few months, and with his birthday next week, I figure it's time to finally do it. Geesh, poor guy. lol
I have his quilt sandwiched too, so am ready to start quilting on it. Here's the backing.
That's whats going on in the sewing room this week.

A few things
Good morning everyone,
The skies are still smoky, the fires still burning, but they are getting contained. Thankfully they are not close enough to us this year to make us be in danger. But prayers for them being put out is appreciated. If you look at a fire map, it looks like the whole Western side of the US is burning. Pretty scary. Zoom in on Northern California, and you can see all the fires in my area (the gray means it's been put out).
So, onto fun things instead ;)
Blog hop season is starting over at Sew We Quilt. I am not in either of the Sept ones, but I did decide to make a fun Fallish/Halloweeny type one. For the Black Cat Crossing hop in late Oct.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've got most of my blocks done for my DD's quilt.
Just have a few more windmill blocks to make.
Now they all need a good ironing and I can start putting things together.
I'm still waiting on backing for my son's quilt.
And I'm still working on my new sewing room. I need to start getting that together. All I have in there so far is my cutting table and sewing machine, plus a few new fabric bins :)
Have a great day all.
August goal for ALOYF
Hello All,
Hope your Summer is going well. We need rain here in California, anybody care to send some?? Our fire season has already started, and August is usually are hottest, driest month...so some rain would be awesome.
My middle son is turning 10 this month, I thought it fitting that it's his quilt I plan on quilting up for my August goal. The top was pieced back in November 2013! I blogged about it here.
So it's time to get 'er done! I have the backing fabric ordered, so as soon as it gets here, I can get going on it.
Have a great day!
